Beginning in 2022, AMS implemented Learning Environment Action Plans (LEAPs) are an annual self-study tool for clinical departments to identify strengths, opportunities and challenges within their learning environment space with particular emphasis on mistreatment and microaggressions.
LEAPs are:
- completed by each clinical department
- reviewed and scored by the Committee on the Learning Environment
- shared across the institution among stakeholders, including students, faculty, and administrators
- compared to yearly LEAP Progress Reports ensuring forward momentum and accountability
- used to identify areas AMS can better support departments to support a healthy learning environment
